Jay Volk

Jay Volk has been a Drupal developer for over 15 years. He started out developing custom content management systems until he saw Drupal and knew that it was the way to go. Jay has developed custom and Drupal-based content management systems for clients in education, business, construction and health care including one website that allows users to find the least expensive and best quality healthcare pricing in their area on over 3,500 procedures nationwide. This site has a database that is constantly updated with over 6 million records (and counting).

Jay is always learning something new -- whether it's more about a frontend or backend web technology, science and space, or researching a new travel destination. An avid foodie and travel hound, Jay has been to Iceland, Ireland, Portugal, Prague, Korea, London, Banff, Toronto, Vancouver, Alaska, San Francisco, Arizona, and Montana. He lives with his wife and the world's cutest labradoodle named Laika (named after the first dog in space) in Pittsburgh, PA.

Before becoming a developer, Jay was a video editor and traveled to Seoul Korea for the 1988 Olympics. That year, he won two Emmy awards for his work on the Olympics. Jay is a certified Drupal Developer and Site Builder.
